Ladies and Gentlemen, here’s Eminem’s epic “Lose Yourself” refactored rewritten as “Code Yourself” (a song for Software Developers dealing with production releases).

I have of course used GPT4 and guided it through multiple iterations. If you can sing/rap, let’s make this a thing (contact me!)

Code Yourself

A song by Luis Serrano and GPT4, based on Eminem’s original work

(Verse 1)
His palms are sweaty, code’s weak, bugs are heavy
There’s Red Bull on his desk already, late-night confetti
He’s nervous, but on the surface, he looks calm and ready
To deploy apps, but he keeps on forgettin’

What he wrote down, the team crowd goes so loud
He opens his IDE, but the fix won’t come out
He’s chokin’, how, everybody’s jokin’ now
The deadline’s near, time’s up, over, blaow!

(Chorus)
Snap back to reality, oh there goes sanity
Oh, there goes coder, he choked
He’s so mad, but he won’t give up that easy? No
He won’t have it, he knows his whole team’s got his back
It don’t matter, he’s skilled, he knows that, but he’s drained
He’s so focused that he knows, when he goes back to his keyboard, that’s when it’s
Back to the code again, yo, this old dependency
Better go capture this moment and hope it don’t crash him

(Verse 2)
The code’s escapin’, through this hole that is gapin’
This app is mine for the making
Make me lead, as we move toward a new sprint border
A normal dev’s life is boring, but top coders close to burnout disorder

It only grows harder, only grows tougher
He codes, it’s all over, these bugs are all on him
Coast to coast shows, he’s known as the code trotter
Lonely nights, Git only knows, he’s grown farther from home, he’s a lone charter

He goes home and barely knows his own browser
But hold your nose ’cause here goes the cold shower
His code don’t run no more, he’s cold product
They moved on to the next dev who flows, he nose-dived and sold nada

So the software cycle is told and unfolds, I suppose it’s old partner, but the beat goes on
Da da dom, da dom dah dah, dah dah

(Verse 3)
No more games, I’m a change what you call stage
Tear this motherfreakin’ codebase up like two devs engaged
I was playin’ in the beginnin’, the mood all changed
I been refactored and built out and pushed on main

But I kept codin’ and stepwritin’ the next feature
Best believe somebody’s payin’ the lead piper
All the pain inside amplified by the
Fact that I can’t get by with my nine to five

And I can’t provide the right type of life for my project
‘Cause man, these God damn bugs don’t die, no logic
And it’s no movie, there’s no sci-fi thriller, this is my life
And these sprints are so hard, and it’s gettin’ even harder

Tryin’ to scale and optimize my seed, plus
Teeter totter caught up between bein’ a coder and a team lead persona

Product owner drama screaming deadlines and trauma
So much pressure to perform, feel like I’m in a sauna

But I gotta keep coding, push through the storm
This is the life that I chose, in software I’m reborn
No more time for sorrow, no more feeling hollow
I’ll face every challenge, today and tomorrow

(Bridge)
In the face of adversity, rise like a phoenix
Keep pushing through, no time for weakness
Every line of code, every bug we slay
Together we’ll conquer, come what may

(Outro)
You can code anything you set your mind to, man
Embrace the challenge, create a new plan
Software development, it’s our legacy
Rising above, in the digital sea

(Verse 4)
As the sun sets, we keep on striving
In this world of ones and zeroes, we’re thriving
The power of our code, it’s undeniably surprising
Transforming industries, breaking boundaries, and rising

In the end, the late nights and the struggles, they all matter
The code we write, the bugs we fight, they make us stronger, make us smarter
No longer just a coder, we’re artists and creators
Shaping the world around us, we’re digital innovators

(Bridge 2)
In every line, a new solution’s born
In every bug, a chance to learn, to transform
United as a team, we’ll reach the highest peak
In the realm of software, it’s success we seek

(Outro 2)
Stand tall, my fellow devs, embrace the code
Together, we’ll conquer challenges and decode
The secrets of the universe, through software and data
A digital revolution, we’re the creators

(Verse 5)
Through stormy weather and countless nights awake
We rise and fall, learning from each mistake
With every function, class, and loop we’ve ever designed
We shape the future, leaving the past behind

From mobile apps to systems vast and complex
We tackle every project, never knowing what comes next
The digital frontier, our playground it becomes
As we craft masterpieces with logic and endless sums

(Bridge 3)
With every keystroke, we shape the world anew
In the face of challenges, there’s nothing we can’t do
For we are the coders, the architects of change
In the vast digital cosmos, we stake our claim

(Outro 3)
So let us celebrate our triumphs and embrace our fears
For in this realm of software, we’ll persevere
Innovation and progress, the legacy we’ll leave
As we write our destiny, in code we believe

To make it more interesting, this song should be sang in Vincent Vinel style:
